WILLIAM C. JERNIGAN

William Coleman Jernigan, 84, of the 1100 block of Hoover Ave., died May 1, 1996.

He was a retired supervisor for J.G. Wilson and was a native of North Carolina. Mr. Jernigan served as a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of Order of the Eagles and Order of the Moose.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wright Jernigan; son, Larry L. Wright Sr. of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Larry L. Wright Jr. of Portsmouth, Deborah Wright Melvin of Woodbridge, Va., James C. Wright and Jamie L. Wright, both of Chesapeake; nine great-grandchildren, James Melvin Jr., Christine Melvin, Daniel Melvin, Larry L. Wright III, Jonathan Wright, Adam Wright, Stephen Wright, Nicole Wright, and Courtney Wright.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by Pastor R.E. Hall in Bible World Church, Chesapeake. Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and at the home of Larry L. Wright Sr., 1209 Edgewood Ave., Chesapeake, at all other times.
