incorrect date.
CLARIFICATIONS:
A story in Sunday's Commentary section unintentionally gave the
impression that John T. Early Jr. was a candidate on the Kids First
slate in the Virginia Beach School Board election in 1994. He was
not.
Judge William L. Forbes was chosen Friday night as 1996
Chesapeake First Citizen by the Great Bridge Jaycees. C. Fred
Bateman, who was featured in the special section ``The Best of
Portsmouth and Chesapeake'' on Wednesday, was the group's l995 First
Citizen.
