PAPER'S TRACK RECORD

Regarding your editorial ``Why we endorse,'' I think you are omitting another issue to fully inform your readers; that issue is ``what is your track record?''

In considering a recommendation from anyone on any subject, not only do I look at the facts of their recommendation, but I also consider the credibility of the person making the recommendation. In your case, I would like to be reminded of the people you endorsed in the recent elections, how many won, how many remain in office, how many were forced to resign in lieu of facing prosecution or other felony charges, etc.

I generally consider the candidates, the issues, the candidates' positions, past character and performance, etc., to make up my own mind without the help of The Virginian-Pilot. However, there are times when I am undecided between two candidates in a close race, and then I look forward to the endorsement of The Virginian-Pilot, so I can vote for the OTHER CANDIDATE.

Specifically, I would like for you to remind your readers of your endorsements for the last School Board election in Virginia Beach, and then we can all play that game, ``where are they now?''
