Jannie Witherspoon McFadden died April 30, 1996.
Mrs. McFadden, the widow of Clarence McFadden Sr., retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility. She was a native of Norfolk and a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include a daughter, Bernice Beason of Monroe; two sons, Sidney McFadden of Bridgeport, Conn., and Clarence McFadden of Norfolk; three sisters, Frances Redding and Marie Brunson, both of New York, N.Y., and Annie Brown of Florence, S.C.; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, John McFadden.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Ditawa M. Nianda at First United Presbyterian Church, Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Cemetery, Chesapeake. The family will be receiving friends at the 700 block of Bayberry Lane, Norfolk, the home of Clarence McFadden. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Family and friends will gather at 707 Bayberry Lane at noon for the procession. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
