LOIS W. HOBBS

Lois Estelle Williams Brown Hobbs, 79, of 214 Selwin Road, died Thursday, May 2, 1996, in Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

Mrs. Hobbs was born in Star, N.C. The daughter of the late Jasper G. and Mrs. Amy Hogan Williams and the stepdaughter of the late Cattie Blue Williams, she was retired from Nationsbank, N.A., in Norfolk. A member of Warwick Baptist Church, she had formerly attended Cool Spring Baptist Church and Indian River Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Albert C. Hobbs; one daughter, Carol Brown Liverman of Chesapeake; one son, William E. ``Bill'' Brown Jr. of Atco, N.J.; two brothers, A. Holt Williams of New London, N.C., and J. Baylus Williams of Owasso, Okla.; five grandchildren, Brian L. Brown, Kevin R. Brown, Christopher S. Liverman, Catherine G. Brown and Jennifer L. Brown; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Elliott Brown Sr. and a son, Glenn A. Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Warwick Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Hupp and the Rev. Gilbert Crawford. Burial will follow in Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, Eure. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and other times at the residence.
