Regarding your editorial on the right choices for Chesapeake City Council: I was upset that you said Robert Nance causes division and partisan bickering on the City Council. I have not found these things to be true in the least, and in Mr. Nance's case I must go on record as saying that what you view as divisiveness, I view as purging an entrenched status-quo mentality. This mentality has left the city short on vision as well as adequate services to deal with an ever-increasing number of people.
Robert Nance has helped raise the level of public consciousness about many matters of mismanagement, the inadequate staffing levels in the Fire Department are the most recent. For that, the families and friends of those firefighters will always be grateful.
