Lester D. ``Mick'' Bell, 54, of the 5300 block of Hanyen Drive, died May 3, 1996, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years of service; for the past 10 years, he worked with the civil service at the Fleet Industrial Supply Center. He was a native of Lewistown, Pa., and was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Mr. Bell was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Bell, of the home; two sons, Patrick Bell and Eric Bell, both of Norfolk; mother, Gertrude Bell of Virginia Beach; father, Lester D. Bell Sr., and his wife, Barbara of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Darlene K. York of New Orleans, and Deborah and Donald Brooke of Virginia Beach; and a brother, Robert L. and Penny Bell of Virginia Beach.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Fred Guy in St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1051 Kempsville Road, Norfolk. Burial is in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Kellum Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m.
