William E. Hughes, of the 1000 block of Norfolk Ave., died April 30, 1996.
He was a native of Princess Anne County and was the widower of Selma Hughes.
He is survived by a daughter, Ellen Lewis of Chesapeake; two sons, Aaron Hughes of Virginia Beach and Ronnie Haley of New Jersey; two sisters, Georgia Lowther and Mable Stevenson, both of Virginia Beach; brother, Britt Ballard of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday by the Rev. E. Ray Cox Sr. in New Hope Baptist Church, Virginia Beach. Burial is in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will be at 4714 Sussex Road, Virginia Beach. Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel, is in charge.
