Mary Ann Womble Gurkin, 66, died Saturday, May 4.
Mrs. Gurkin, a homemaker, was born March 14, 1930, the daughter of the late George W. and Nettie Rose Womble. She married John T. Gurkin on August 5, 1951.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, John Taylor ``Monk'' Gurkin Jr. of Williamston and Gary Gurkin of Raleigh; sister, Marian W. Wier of Mentone, Calif.; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Gurkin.
The family will receive friends at Biggs Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. A funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Macedonia Christian Church. Burial is in Martin Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Dorcas Circle, c/o Macedonia Christian Church, 7640 U.S. Highway 17, Williamston, N.C. 27892.
