Life Savings Bank named Jane P. Orem assistant vice president, construction lending administration; Kathy H. Willis, assistant vice president, product development and sales; Carolyn P. Hines assistant secretary and branch manager. All were previously employed with Seaboard Savings Bank.
Resource Bank has affiliated with the Business Loan Center in Richmond. The bank appointed Mary E. Smith senior vice president of the bank and Wendy H. Fricke, regional administrator of the Business Loan Center. The joint venture will provide permanent real estate loans to small businesses.
ENGINEERING
Clyde Leatherwood was promoted to vice president/electrical engineering department manager at BPS Engineering in Virginia Beach. BPS was called Beach Professional Services Corp. He was electrical department manager.
Michael Sullivan was promoted to vice president/mechanical engineering department manager. Beverly Harper has joined BPS as vice president of business development and Doug Smith was named project manager/mechanical engineer.
Christopher M. Stone and Michael V. Padden were promoted from associates to vice presidents at Clark Nexsen in Norfolk. Stone directs the firm's structural engineering division and Padden is a senior architect.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Howard N. Weinberg, a family practice physician, is now practicing at the Sentara Health Care Center, London Bridge. He formerly practiced at Sentara Health Care Center, Chimney Hill. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice, and a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Willette L. LeHew, a partner with The Group for Women, was elected rector of the Medical College of Hampton Roads Board of Visitors, the governing body of Eastern Virginia Medical School. LeHew succeeds Andrew S. Fine, whose term as rector expires May 31. Fine will continue to serve as a board member.
WHOLESALE
Richmond grocery supplier Richfood Inc. named Jennifer A. Dandridge director of human resources administration. She was corporate recruiting manager. David C. Tillar became warehouse personnel manager. At a sister company, Metro/Basics Retail Division, Michael J. Flanagan was promoted to executive vice president for administration and finance. He was the controller.
MUSEUMS
Andy Kleeger was named restaurant and catering manager for Nauticus. Kleeger will oversee the new Galley Restaurant and the catering of receptions, parties, ceremonies and other events. He was director of food services for Home Quarters Warehouse.
MORTGAGES
Bill Dillon was named regional area manager for National Mortgage Investments Co., a division of the Dime Savings Bank of New York. The region includes Virginia Beach and Newport News.
LAW
Deborah C. Waterswas named an associate at Rutter & Montagna in Norfolk. She will specialize in personal injury and employment discrimination law. Prior to this, she practiced with Croshaw Beale, Hauser & Lewis in Virginia Beach.
Martin E. Silfen was named of counsel at Mays & Valentine in Virginia Beach. Silfen, a nationally recognized entertainment law expert, will lead the firm's new, full-service entertainment and sports law practice team. He will continue to provide legal services for entertainers, business and personal managers and users and providers of multimedia.
Carol N. Hare has joined Shuttleworth Ruloff & Giordano in Virginia Beach. She was a partner with Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman of Charlotte. She will practice real estate law and manage the firm.
