WILLIE M. RICHARDS

Willie M. Richards, 79, died May 6, 1996, in his residence.

He served 12 years with the Merchant Marines, 30 years with the Petroleum Industry, and was currently employed since Jan. 3, 1977, with Allied Terminals Inc. Mr. Richards was a native of Newport News, Va., and was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church where he was an ordained elder.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred A. Richards; three daughters, Lane Estep of Dayton, Ohio, Lynn Trueblood of Chesapeake, Lesley Hurst of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; son, Craig Richards of Norfolk; brother, Herbert D. Richards of Chesapeake; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Robert E. Hobson Jr. in Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Kidney Foundation. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is in charge.
