Cool, rainy weather and gusty easterly winds kept fishing to a minimum all along the Dare Coast Tuesday.
The only good action reported was from Frisco Pier on Hatteras Island, where anglers caught lots of dogfish, some nice sea mullet and a few gray trout.
People were scarce on Avon Pier because of a stiff breeze. Only a few bottom fish were landed from the pier.
Rodanthe Pier reported slow fishing throughout the day.
Kitty Hawk Pier anglers caught nothing during the morning, but they landed a few sea mullet during the afternoon.
A few sea mullet were landed on Avalon Pier by the few people who braved the bad weather.
A few sea mullet were taken on Nags Head Pier.
A couple of sand perch and some sea mullet were decked on Outer Banks Pier during the morning, but fishing was slow later in the day.
Surf action along the northern beaches was slow because of the weather.
Around Oregon Inlet a few bottom fish were landed from the revetment, and the catwalk on the south end of the Bonner Bridge.
Scattered drum were beached at Cape Point Monday night. A few sea mullet and other bottom fish were taken around Cape Point Tuesday.
Some gray trout were landed by surfcasters along the beach near Ramp 55.
Only one boat, the Outer Limits, fished offshore from Oregon Inlet Tuesday. Although conditions were poor, anglers aboard caught eight or nine tuna.
Off Hatteras, several charters caught good numbers of dolphin, a few tuna and several wahoo.
