CHARLENE B. PATTERSON

Charlene B. Patterson, of the 1200 block of Currie Court, died May 7, 1996, at her residence.

Mrs. Patterson, a devoted wife and homemaker, was the widow of Dewy J. Patterson. She was born in Mamie, N.C., the daughter of the late Arthur and Robana Baxter. She was a member of Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, Powells Point, N.C.

Survivors include four sisters, Sadie B. Gallop of Powells Point, Norma E. Hall of South Mills, N.C., Erlene E. Lea, also of Powells Point, and Dollie J. Johnson of Portsmouth; three brothers-in-law, James E. Johnson Jr. of Portsmouth, James R. Hall and Issac Ball, both of South Mills; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Charlie Patterson at Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, Rev. James E. McCoy, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. A wake service will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Riddick Funeral Service is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
