JANEY W. BRAUDRICK

Janey Wilman Braudrick, 74, died Tuesday, May 7, 1996.

Born in Battle Creek, Mich., she had resided in Holiday Island, Hertford, N.C., for the past 10 years. She was the widow of Harry Milton ```Mike'' Braudrick. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk and an active member of the Chapel on the Sound, Hertford. Janey was involved in the choir, bell choir, the Chapel Ladies, a weekly prayer group and also taught Sunday school and Vaction Bible school. In the spirit of Florence Nightingale, she dedicated her last years to helping the sick, especially children and her friends and neighbors. She was a buyer for the Navy Exchange and retired after 11 years as head buyer for L. Snyder's Department Store.

She is survived by her four children, daughter, Madelynn Miles, and husband, Dudley, of Virginia Beach; son, Joe Braudrick, and wife, Maysie of Norfolk; daughter, Pam Snyder, and husband, Dan, of Virginia Beach; and daughter, Debbie Giles, and husband, Chuck, of Stockton, Md. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, who were ``Nana's Angels,'' Sherri and J.D., Chris and Jennifer, Shauna and Helen, and Heather and Justin. Her surviving sisters include Annetta Nager of Palm Dessert, Calif., Frances Marquess of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews; and a honorary daughter, Annette Marsh.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Norfolk by Richard Baker and Pastor Wayne Jarrett. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. Friends may join the family at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Please make memorial donations to Chapel on the Sound, Hertford, N.C. Friends may join the family at the home of Pam and Dan Snyder, 2673 Blue Heron Court, Virginia Beach, at other times.
