Albert Martell, 88, of the 3300 block of Hornsea Road, died May 7, 1996.
Mr. Martell, a retired rate clerk, worked for Hipage Customs Brokerage Company. He was a native of Norfolk County and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach. He was involved in the Loyal Builder's Class, United Methodist Men, Administrative Board, Norfolk District Historical Society of Methodist Church. He was a 50-year member of South Norfolk Masonic Lodge (NU)339, member of Friendship Chapter (NU)57, Order of Eastern Star, and a member of AARP.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Early Martell; a daughter, Suzanne M. Roach of Oakmont, Pa.; a son, David A. Martell of Richmond; a sister, Alice M. Henley of Chesapeake; a brother, Vernon C. Martell of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Stephanie Roach and Rebecca Roach, both of Oakmont, Michael D. Martell and Matthew D. Martell, both of Richmond.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Joe Carson at Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. The family will be at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach.
