Archie L. Taylor, 74, of the 800 block of Wickford Drive, died Wednesday, May 8, 1996, at his residence.
Mr. Taylor was born in Suffolk and was the son of the late George W. and Una Ellis Taylor. He was the widower of Patricia Ida Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a retired maintenance foreman with Reiser Food. He attended Woodland Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Allen Lewis Taylor of Las Vegas, Nev.; his stepson, Tommy Chappelow of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Bertha Taylor Joyner of Suffolk, Margaret Taylor Loyd of Edenton, N.C, and Barbara Taylor English of Chesapeake; a brother, Earl C. Taylor of Sunbury, N.C.; and a grandchild, Matthew Taylor.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Woodland Heights Baptist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Barnes and the Rev. Ron Andrews of Cincinnati, Ohio. Interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, today from 7 to 8 p.m.
