A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday to honor law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
The service, which is open to the public, will be held in front of police headquarters at 304 Albemarle Drive. Chesapeake police, the Chesapeake Sheriff's Department and Fraternal Order of Police No. 9 will be represented.
Chesapeake is the only Hampton Roads city to recently have lost a police officer in the line of duty. On Nov. 4, Officer Daniel Eaker, 37, was killed as he helped a motorist.
State Sen. Mark L. Earley will speak at the service, which is scheduled to last about an hour.
In case of rain, the ceremony will be held in the conference room of the central library at 298 Cedar Road. by CNB
