Janice Ruth Castelloe Cowan, 68, of 202 Spring St., died Thursday, May 9, 1996, at her home.
She was a native of Bertie County, a member of Cashie Baptist Church, the Ruth Sunday School Class and the Home Extension Club.
She is survived by her husband, William D. Cowan; four daughters, Kathy C. Bickford of Elizabeth City, Shirley C. Smith of Washington, N.C., Sylvia C. Collins of Windsor, N.C., Christie C. Mizell of Windsor; two sons, Archie F. Cowan of Garner, N.C., and William K. Cowan of Sanford, N.C.; two sisters, Faye C. Bass of Edenton, N.C., Evie C. White of Windsor; brother, J.T. Castelloe of Hampton; and nine grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today at Cashie Baptist Church by the Rev. Dwight Alston and the Rev. Grover Everett. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Walker Funeral Home is in charge.
