The city of Portsmouth got the horse track it wanted. It now calls it Bide-A-Wee Golf Course. Since the city of Portsmouth took over management of Bide-A-Wee, the playing conditions have steadily gone downhill until the golf course is totally unplayable.
At one time, Bide-A-Wee was a championship-caliber golf course, played by the likes of Sam Snead and other great players of that time. Under proper management, Bide-A-Wee could again return to a championship-caliber golf course and be a great asset to the city of Portsmouth.
