Peter Braun, 83, of the 2900 block of Verdun Ave., died May 11, 1996, at his residence.
Mr. Braun retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. He also retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 15 years of service. He is a life member of the Fleet Reserve Assoc. (NU)60.
Mr. Braun is survived by his wife, Mary Joyce Braun; a daughter, Joyce B. Carter of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Helen Combs of North Dakota, Clara Fisher of California, and Marie Holzboog of Washington; five brothers, Richard and Michael Braun of California, Roman and Walter Braun of Oregon, and Wilford Braun of Missouri; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held Monday, May 13 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with the Vigil service starting at 7 p.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church, Norfolk. The funeral mass will be Tuesday, May 14, at 1 p.m. in the church, Father Joe Lehman presiding. Entombment will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church building fund, Norfolk. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
