CAREER TRACK

ADVERTISING

Richard Bowen was named director of client services at Fareed & Co. in Virginia Beach. He will concentrate on recruiting new business for the company. He was the general sales manager at WLTY-FM in Virginia Beach.

COMMUNICATIONS

Jeffery R. Gardner was named president of 360 Communications' Mid-Atlantic region, which is headquartered in Virginia Beach. He will direct all aspects of the company's operations in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. He joined the company in 1986 and became head of the Mid-Atlantic region as regional vice president in 1994. Before assuming his current position, he held a variety of management positions with Sprint Cellular and Centel, the former parents of 360.

BANKING

Robert M. Boyd was named president and John A. Trotter was named executive vice president of First Virginia Bank of Tidewater. Boyd succeeds William L. Ambrose who retired after 34 years with the bank. Boyd was senior vice president and branch administration manager of the Falls Church branch. Trotter was a senior vice president.

DISTRIBUTION

Tom L. Atkinson was named controller/financial manager of the Taylor Cos., which consists of Norfolk Warehouse Distribution Centers Inc., Taylor Document Management Co. nc., Diamond T Transportation Systems Inc. and Norchem Inc. Previously, Atkinson was a chief financial officer of London Bridge Trading Co. in Virginia Beach.

LAW

Theofilos G. Galoozis has joined Vandeventer, Black Meredith & Martin in Norfolk. He was an attorney with the National Labor Relations Board. He concentrates his practice in labor and employment, NLRB proceedings, litigation, Employee Retirement Income Security Act and employment discrimination.

John E. Holloway was named a partner at Hunton & Williams, Norfolk. He practices in litigation and has been with the firm since 1988.

Michael L. Goodove was named an associate at the Norfolk firm of Rabinowitz Rafal Swartz, Taliaferro & Gilbert. He will continue to practice in the areas of personal injury and civil and criminal litigation.

ORGANIZATIONS

Rick Rudiger of Engineering Services in Virginia Beach was named 1996 president of the Tidewater chapter of the Virginia Association of Land Surveyors. Nancy Conklin was named vice president. She is employed with Bench Mark Inc.

Gary W. Mulhern was named the new metro director for the American Heart Association, Tidewater Metropolitan Council. He will work with more than 15,000 volunteers, direct the implementation of new community programs and management of local fundraising activities. He most recently served as the affiliate executive director of the American Heart Association, New Hampshire Affiliate.

RETAIL

Ned N. Nielsen was named general manager of Checkered Flag Lynnhaven BMW, Porsche, Audi, Jaguar and Saab. Previously, he worked as a Land Rover specialist for Hennessey Land Rover Center in Atlanta and helped start the first Land Rover Center in the country. He was the former owner of Nielsen Volkswagen/Audi/Dodge in Fredericksburg.

STOCK BROKERAGE

Ronald N. Herrod was named vice president-investments of Davenport & Co. of Virginia Inc. in Virginia Beach. Gregory M. Hall of the Newport News office was promoted to associate vice president for investments. Both have been with the firm since 1989.

And John R. Marks of the firm's Franklin office was named associate vice president-investments. He joined the company in 1993.
