A 15-year-old boy's body was recovered from Lake Meade on Sunday evening, about two hours after he was reported missing.
Police identified the victim as Alvin Richardson of Suffolk.
Richardson was last seen by his family about 8:30 a.m. Sunday. His shoes and some clothing were found near the lake off the 900 block of N. Broad St. in the Riverview section.
A police dive team recovered the body just after 6 p.m.
Richardson was a student at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy.
