CAROLINE S. ROBERTS

Caroline Suzanne ``Sue'' Roberts, 44, of the 5000 block of Haygood Road, died May 11, 1996, in her residence.

She was a retired respiratory technician for Leigh Memorial Hospital and a native of South Amboy, N.J. She was a registered technician and participated in Habitat for Humanity Women's Projects. She was a member of Three Women and a Wash Tub Band, Leigh Memorial Women's Softball Team, Leigh Memorial Women's Basketball Team, the Sentara Women's Choir and she was also the fund raiser coordinator for United Way at the hospital. She was an avid gardener.

She is survived by a daughter, Claire Barnes of Patuxent River, Md.; three sisters, Marjorie Kurtz-Cusack of Little Falls, N.Y., Janet Kurtz-Cho of Austin, Texas, Rosalie Bond of Hazleton, Pa.; three brothers, Warren Kurtz of Hampstead, N.C, William Kurtz of Palm Harbor, Fla., Karl Kurtz of Belleville, N.J.; and a special friend, Ruth Harris of Virginia Beach; as well as numerous friends and loved ones.

A funeral will be private and at a later date. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Battered Women c/o United Way or to AIDS Crisis/Candii House.
