JOHNIE L. LEWIS

Johnie Lamar Lewis, 64, loving husband, devoted father and dedicated Christian of 40 years, went to be with the Lord on May 12, 1996, after a long illness.

Mr. Lewis was a native of McComb, Miss., and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Virginia Beach. Mr. Lewis retired from AT&T after 35 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

He is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 38 years, Beth Lewis; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Lori Lewis of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Jon Mowry of Kiev, Ukraine; his daughter, AmyBeth Lewis of Boise, Idaho; his three grandchildren, Carly and Tyler Lewis of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Jonathan Mowry of Kiev, Ukraine.

The family wishes for Johnie to be remembered as a man of God, who loved and cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in First Church of the Nazarene, Wishart Road, Virginia Beach, with a graveside service following at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Virginia Beach Boulevard. The family will receive friends at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Jack Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nazarene World Missions, in care of First Church of the Nazarene in Virginia Beach, 4413 Wishart Road, Virginia Beach, 23455.
