William Thomas Harris, 72, died May 14, 1996, at his residence.
A native of Nansemond County, he was the son of the late James Thomas and Jessie Henry Harris. He had retired from H.L. White Roofing as a sheet-metal worker. He was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his sister, Lucille Harris of Suffolk, and cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. George H. Close Jr. in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Oxford United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 601 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va. 23434. R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
