George C. Georgiades, 92, of Norfolk, died May 13, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Georgiades was a native of Cyprus. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral Church of the Annunciation in Norfolk. Mr. Georgiades was a former restaurant owner. He was a member of the Knights of the Pithian and the Cyprus Benevolent Society. He was preceded in death by a grandchild Brian Helmus.
Survivors include a wife, Frieda Georgiades; two daughters, Christella G. Fletcher of Virginia Beach, Sadie G. Christ of Norfolk; a son, Christopher Georgiades of Norfolk; two brothers, Diogenis Christoforou of Cyprus, Paul Christopher of Athens, Greece; a sister, Anna Kadies of Cyprus; five grandchildren, Jacqueline F. Helmus of Virginia Beach, Cynthia Richardson of Virginia Beach, Febronia Christ of Norfolk, Tasos Nick Christ of Norfolk, George Jack Christ of Norfolk; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Helmus and Matthew Helmus, both of Virginia Beach.
A church service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday May 16, 1996 at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral Church of the Annunciation by the Rev. Constantine P. Rogakos. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn. There will be a Trisagion service at the funeral home today at 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the church, 7220 Granby Street, Norfolk, Virginia. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, are handling arrangements.
