J. RANDOLPH QUERY JR.

J. Randolph ``Dolph'' Query Jr., 69, of the 9600 block of Grove Ave., died May 13, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Query was a native and life-long resident of Norfolk. He was the son of the late Joseph Randolph Query Sr. and was preceded in death, 42 years ago, by his former wife, Helen Gunn Query. He retired as the director of operations from NARDAC in 1988 after 39 years of employment with the U.S. Civil Service. He was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Norfolk.

Mr. Query was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School and attended Belmont Abbey University. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Keeley Council, 3548, Ocean View, and was a past grand commander and past grand advocate of the International Order of the Alhambra, Padul Caravan 69.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Nancy Caminati Query of Norfolk; five daughters, Kathleen Q. Hollomon of Norfolk, Pamela Q. Hernon of Dallas, Texas, Debra J. Query, Karen Q. Goldsmith, and Patricia Q. Porter, all of Norfolk; three sons, J. Randolph Query III of Charleston, W.Va., Patrick Lyons Query and James B. Query, both of Chesapeake; his mother, Hilda Lyons Query of Norfolk; four sisters, Marie Q. Pupo and Aubrey Q. Consolvo, both of Norfolk, Gerarde Q. Barth of Arlington, Va., Margaret Q. Bramble of College Park, Md.; a brother, Lyons S. Query Sr. of Norfolk; 15 grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today at Holy Trinity Catholic Church by the Rev. John Dorgan. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, will be handling the arrangements.
