MARY E. BRADT

Mary Elizabeth Bradt, 102, one of Westminister Canterbury's first residents, passed away Sunday, May 12, 1996, at her residence, 3100 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach.

Miss Bradt graduated from Suny-Albany and received her master's degree from Cornell University. She was head of the History Department at Albany High School and later became supervisor of Social Studies for the Albany School System.

Miss Bradt was a bird lover who had a feeding station outside her dining room window on Bullock Road in New Scotland, N.Y. She enjoyed snowshoeing, golf and bridge. She was on the board of and active in The Summer Institute for Research and Enlightenment under the leadership of Dr. Everett Clinchy, a Presbyterian minister, in Rensselaerville, N.Y. Miss Bradt traveled widely in Europe, Egypt, North Africa, the Hawaiian Islands and the United States.

Her only surviving relatives are several cousins, Helen Stern, Susan and Stephen Gemberling and their son, John of New York City, Esther Barnet Stern, Delft Honlond and Richard and Terri Stern and their children, Sarah Helen, Robert, Joseph and Daniel of Chappaqua, N.Y.

Burial will be private at a later date. Kellum Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
