A front-page headline Tuesday should have said that Vice Adm. J. Paul Reason's nomination for promotion would make him the Navy's first black four-star admiral, not the first four-star admiral.
Also, a reference in the story to Reason as a future ``fleet admiral'' was meant to describe his nomination to command the Atlantic Fleet and not the five-star rank.
Dave Bose spoke at a public hearing Monday night on Norfolk public schools' plan to teach students character values. A story in Tuesday's MetroNews section had his first name wrong.
A photo inside Tuesday's MetroNews section, with the continuation of the Operation Smile story, showed Dr. Meshaach Ong'uti, a Kenyan surgeon. The caption misidentified him as a patient.
The Chesapeake Volunteer Fire Department signed a contract with Response Marine of Newburyport, Mass., for a fire and rescue boat. A MetroNews story Saturday, about fund-raising efforts for the boat, had errors. Donations can be sent to the department at 304 Albemarle Dr., Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
A MetroNews story Monday on the fire at Windsor Oaks Elementary School in Virginia Beach misspelled the last name of Battalion Chief Chase Sargent, a Fire Department spokesman. by CNB
