POLICE PRAISE

An article in the May 13 edition of U.S. News & World Report magazine listed the top-five best and worst cities in the country in two categories: serious crimes and murders. Virginia Beach was shown as the second-best city in both serious crimes and murders. Considering that the rating included all cities in the United States with a population over 250,000 people, this is commendable.

As a citizen and taxpayer, I am grateful to the Virginia Beach Police Department for a job well-done. We citizens are quick to criticize when things do not please us. We should be equally as vocal when outstanding service is rendered.
