Albert Lynn ``Bert'' Writtenberry Jr., 20, of the 400 block of Highland Ave., died May 14, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
He was a sheet metal mechanic for M & M Sheet Metal, Chesapeake, and a native of Suffolk. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Suffolk, and a graduate of Western Branch High School, Class of 1994.
He is survived by his parents, Carol Walker Nichols of Brentwood, Tenn. and father, Albert Lynn Writtenberry Sr. of Suffolk; sister, Virginia Nichols of Brentwood; brother, William Nichols of Brentwood; maternal grandmother, Belva Sears Walker of Suffolk; paternal grandfather, Matthew W. ``Bud'' Writtenberry of Suffolk; stepfather, Hunter D. ``Nick'' Nichols of Brentwood.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson in First Baptist Church, Suffolk. Burial is in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at the Harrell Funeral Home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 237 North Main St., Suffolk, Va. 23434, or to the Nansemond-Suffolk Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, is in charge of the arrangements.
