Barbara Raubinger Xenakis, 95, of the 600 block of Kingsbrough Square, widow of Nicholas John Xenakis, died Wednesday, May 15, 1996 in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Xenakis, a native of Austra, Hungary, was a member of the Church of the Resurrection and the church's sewing group.
Survivors include her son, Sabbas Nicholas Xenakis of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Nicholas A. and wife, Linda Xenakis, Anthony N. and wife, Lorie Xenakis, Anna Maria and husband, Steve Thomas, Christopher V. and wife, Jeanette Xenakis, Barbara Ann Xenakis, Vincent C. and wife, Jean Xenakis and John Joseph Xenakis; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Church of the Resurrection by the Rev. Rolo Castillo. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Long Island, New York. Foster Funeral Home in Portsmouth is handling the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
