MAN ENTERS PLEA IN SLAYING OF BROTHER

Wylie ``Junie'' Holloman, 33, avoided a jury trial Wednesday by pleading nolo contendere to charges of first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Holloman, who lived in the 1800 block of Ferry Road, was charged with killing his younger brother, David Holloman, last September after an argument in their home. Police said David Holloman, 24, was shot in the right side with a 12-gauge shotgun and died in the hospital several days later.

Wylie Holloman faces 20 years to life on the murder charge and a mandatory three-year sentence on the firearms charge.

He entered the plea, which leads to conviction but does not admit guilt, in Circuit Court. A pre-sentence report is due June 10.
