The York River under the new Coleman Bridge has reopened to all vessels that will not require the bridge to swing open, the Coast Guard said Wednesday.
Tidewater Construction removed the anchors, anchor buoys and cables that presented a navigation hazard to boaters during the replacement of the bridge. The safety zone used to keep boaters away has been disestablished.
The bridge will not be able to swing open until about June 15. Some work remains aboard barges, and all mariners in the area should use caution. by CNB
