Curtis Griffin, of the 1600 block of Lyontine Lane, died May 14, 1996, at Maryview Hospital.
Mr. Griffin, a native of Newland, N.C., retired from Norfolk Naval Air Station as an electrician after 30 years of service. He was the widower of Rosa Lee Griffin and a member, usher and Sunday school member of Divine Baptist Church, Chesapeake. He was a member of Greater Deep Creek Lodge (NU)1033, and I.B.P.O.E. of W., Order of Elks.
Survivors include a daughter, Sophia Griffin-Price of Portsmouth; a son, William Cuffee and his wife, Hilda C. Cuffee, of Chesapeake; three sisters, Margaret Rodgers, Ocie Lee Scott and Denetta Alston, all of Portsmouth; five brothers, Romie Griffin and Allen Griffin Jr., both of Chesapeake, Carlton Griffin Sr., Otto Griffin Sr. and Alphonso Griffin, all of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends, including a special friend, Annie Turner.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. J.R. Briggs at Divine Baptist Church, Chesapeake. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Elk service will be held today at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
