Dorothy Hazel Bowling, 74, died Wednesday May 15, 1996.
She was a native of Gary, W.Va., and moved to Chesapeake last year from Woodlawn, Va. She was the widow of Albert J. Bowling.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda W. Drelick and Donald E. Drelick of Portsmouth; a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby R. Wade and Joyce Wade of Felton, Del.; two brothers, J. Ernest Hill of Birmingham, Ala., and Bill R. Hill of Cocoa, Fla.; four sisters, Ivra H. Henderson of Lexington, Ky., Gaynell Griffin of Woodlawn, Betty Myers of Columbus, Ohio, and Lena V. Hill of Hampton; five grandchildren, Debra Fisher, Michael Wade, Larry R. Fisher, Angie Wade and Dawn Loftus; a step-granddaughter, Donna Gordon; six great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
There will be a funeral in Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home in Hillsville, Va., at 1 p.m. Sunday. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home, Hampton. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials take the form of donations to the Coach Joe Ladisic Fund, c/o Wilson High School, 1401 Elmhurst Lane, Portsmouth, 23701.
