William Edward ``Billy'' McMahan, 74, of the 1100 block of West Memorial Drive, died May 15, 1996, at his home.
Mr. McMahan, a native of Walhalla, S.C., retired from the District of Columbia Department of Corrections as a correctional officer. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Woodbridge, Va., and attended Ahoskie United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Linton McMahan; a daughter, Joan M. Hudgins and her husband, Bryan of Eure, N.C.; a brother, Joe A. McMahan of Front Royal, Va.; and three grandsons, Will Hudgins, Justin Hudgins, Blake Hudgins, all of Eure.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie by Dr. Kenneth Hall and the Rev. Billy Presley. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Memorial donations may be made to Ahoskie Rescue Squad, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910 or to Roanoke Chowan Hospice, P.O.
