I am grateful for your printing of Sue VanHecke's review of ``Doug Varone and Dancers,'' presented by Tidewater Performing Arts Society.
South Hampton Roads boasts several dance companies and more than 50 privately owned dance schools or studios. Dance courses are offered by many of the universities and colleges here as well as on the Peninsula. This adds up to thousands of dance students. Although these students come in a variety of ages and shapes and possess various degrees of ability and talent, they create a sizable audience and enthusiastic supporter of dance performances.
To attend a live performance of any kind is not only fun and educational but a once-in-a-lifetime experience shared with the performers. Each live performance is unique. Every dance performance deserves coverage by the media. Please continue to inform us of dance events large and small so we can further broaden our knowledge through the enjoyment of the arts.
