Herman F. Bibbins, Bubba by some, and Ringo by others, of the 2400 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd., died May 13, 1996, in Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired truck driver and he also worked in security for C.O.G.I.C. High Rise Security. He was a native of Norfolk County and a member of The Way of the Cross C.O.G.I.C.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Bibbins; three daughters, Shirley Outerbridge of Norfolk, Iris Cuffee of Norfolk, and Barbara Speller of Virginia Beach; two sons, Brian Bibbins of Virginia Beach, Melvin Pollock of Norfolk; a sister, Gloria Peaks of New York; a brother, Nathaniel Pollock of New York; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday by Pastor Simmons in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Chapel. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The remains will be ready for viewing Sunday at 3 p.m. The family will assemble at 2412 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., at 12:30 p.m. for the procession. The family will receive friends in the C.O.G.I.C. High Rise.
