Harry Rubin, 92, died Thursday, May 16, 1996, in Boston.
A native of Russia, Mr. Rubin came to Boston at the age of six. He attended schools in Chelsea, Mass. and was the owner and operator of Somerset Supply Company, Somerville, Mass., until his retirement several years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Ann K., and his sons, Arnold, Paul, and Lawrence, all of Boston, Dr. Robert Rubin of Norfolk, and a daughter, Doris Adler of Manchester, Conn. He was grandfather to 11 children and a great-grandfather of 14. He is also survived by four brothers, and five sisters. His wife, Martha Levine, died in 1983. They had been married for 57 years.
Harry was active as cantorial soloist in several area temples and synagogues and frequently performed in area operatic productions. For many years he was host of a Boston radio program using the name Harry Robbins.
Funeral services are on Sunday at 1 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 1 Kendall Square Building 200, Cambridge, Mass. 02139, or the United Jewish Federation, 7300 Newport Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23505.
