JACK B. ANDREWS

Cmdr. Jack B. Andrews of the U.S. Navy (Ret.), of the 3000 block of Watergate Lane, died Thursday, May 16, 1996, at his home.

Cmdr. Andrews, a native of Pennsylvania and a longtime resident of Virginia Beach, was a former Navy fighter pilot and the former director of Tidewater Alcohol Safety Action Program. Cmdr. Andrews was an active member of the Lynnhaven United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach. He sang in the choir and in the men's chorus.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rose Marie Andrews; father, William B. Andrews of Adamsville, Pa.; daughter, Gay Lynn Rountree of Virginia Beach; two sons, John Andrews and Mark Andrews, both of Virginia Beach; and four dear grandchildren.

A memorial funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at Lynnhaven United Methodist Church, Sunday. His son, John, will bury his remains at sea. The family will receive guests at the house today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at Lynnhaven United Methodist Church. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
