The free examinations will be offered from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at these locations:
Norfolk boat ramps at 13th View Street and Willoughby.
Portsmouth City Park.
Virginia Beach boat ramps at Owl's Creek and Lynnhaven Inlet.
Chesapeake ramps at the Jordan Bridge, Great Bridge Locks and Elizabeth River Park.
Franklin's Nottoway River ramp.
Hampton's Sunset Creek ramp.
Newport News ramps at Denbigh and Huntington Park.
The coalition includes safety specialists from the Coast Guard, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Tidewater Personal Watercraft Club, the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action program, all local police departments, boating retailers and community groups. by CNB
