DEVICE WAS FAKE BOMB

A ``suspicious device'' found in a cabinet at Hall Pontiac in the 3100 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. on Friday was not an explosive at all, police said Saturday. But it was meant to look like one.

The device, which appeared to be a pipe bomb, was removed by the Police Department bomb squad's robot. It was ``rendered safe'' at an undisclosed location.

Police said an employee found the device about 5 p.m. Friday. Anyone with information should call Crime Solvers at 427-0000. by CNB
