Martha Beatrice Reynolds Ross, 75, formerly of the 2800 block of Dunkirk Ave., died May 17, 1996, in Norfolk Health Care Center.
Mrs. Ross, a native of Norfolk, was the daughter of the late William and Martha McIver Reynolds and widow of William Ross. She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church and was active in many phases of the church, among them the Missionary Circle and Usher Board. She was a member of United Order of Tents, Lydia Jewell (NU)265 and was senior matron of the Chapter. She was a member of Les Demoiselles Social Club. She was retired as a waitress from Donut Dinette on Colley Avenue after 25 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Michele L. Reynolds of Washington, D.C.; three brothers, Preston M. Reynolds of Norfolk, William ``Buster'' Reynolds of Bronx, N.Y. and Benjamin ``Benny'' Reynolds of Salisbury, Md.; and a grandchild, Mikal J. Reynolds. She is also survived by three stepdaughters; two stepsons; in-laws; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Ovid Nichols.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Jerusalem Baptist Church by the Rev. Thomas Venable. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Riddick Funeral Service, where the United Order of Tents will hold a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and other times at 725 Maryland Ave. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
