JACK M. HUDSON

Jack M. ``Red'' Hudson of the 5600 block of S. Pawnee Road, died May 18, 1996, at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk.

Jack was a native of Rockingham, N.C., and a long time resident of Virginia Beach. He retired from the Navy after 22 years. He was also retired from Sears Roebuck (Witchduck Road) as service manager after 18 years. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Branch 60 Ocean View, VFW Post 4809, USS Coral Sea Association CV43 and Kempsville Masonic Lodge 196.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Parrish Hudson; two daughters, Deborah and her husband Luther Waterfield of Chesapeake and Jacqueline and her husband Michael Rumberger of Norfolk; a son, David and his wife Vicki of Manassas, Va.; two granddaughters, Lisa D'Ambrosio and Sarah Hudson; four grandsons, Eric D'Ambrosio, William, David and Elliot Rumberger; four sisters, Dorothy Macon, Sarah Belle Thompson, Ruth Propst of Rockingham, N.C., and Catherine Wilson of Cordova, N.C.; two brothers, William B. and James D. Hudson of Rockingham; special friends, Louis and Ina Zaborsky; and several loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Quinton Covington of Central United Methodist Church, Laurenburg, N.C. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday and burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home and at the residence at other times. Masonic rites will be given at the beginning of the visitation and full military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
