I am grateful to The Virginian-Pilot for the supplement about the amphitheater. It was very informative. In fact it brought to light that there are more hidden costs to attending concerts than just the parking fee and ``convenience'' fee already mentioned. The supplement shows that in addition to outside food and beverages being prohibited, lawn chairs are also prohibited (that is unless you rent them from the amphitheater).
I am excited about the artists' coming, but very concerned about all the apparently underhanded things Cellar Door is doing to pad its pockets. I call on Mayor Oberndorf and the City Council to correct this. I get very put off by having to buy everything at the exorbitant prices charged by concessions.
The lawn would be much more pleasant if I could bring my own chairs and a picnic basket.
