Bessie E. Ewell, 80, of the 5600 block of Morris Neck Road, died May 20, 1996.
She was born in Princess Anne County, Va., and was the widow of James Oscar Ewell. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Sheila R. Duncan and Audrey K. Grimstead, both of Virginia Beach; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. T. E. Thieman in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 685 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. The family will receive friends in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m.
