Shirley M. Jackson, 55, died May 17, 1996, in Harlem, N.Y.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Jackson of New York; daughter, Shirley Mae Griffin of Jackson, N.Y.; three sons, Walter Griffin of Texas, Michael Jackson of Hawaii and Willie Jackson of New York; special mother, Beulah Bowman of Portsmouth; three sisters, Cadell Davis of Suffolk; Doris Davis and Helen Sunmer of Portsmouth; two brothers, Louis Griffin and Jacob Sunmer of Portsmouth; two grandchildren of New York; a grandchild of Texas; two aunts, Alice Spence of Portsmouth, Rosa M. Griffin of Connecticut. She was predeceased by her parents, Dora G. Sunmer and Charlie White; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins of Portsmouth.
A funeral will be in New Mount Calvary Baptist Church, New York. Fisher Funeral Home, Portsmouth, supplied the information.
