ELEANORE K. HECHTKOPF

Eleanore K. Hechtkopf, 80, a retired owner of The Circle Shoppe at Military Circle, died May 20, 1996, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Hechtkopf was a native of Bayonne, N.J. She was the widow of Murray N. Hechtkopf and was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters as well as her parents. In recent years, she worked as a devoted member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Byzantine Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. In previous years, she spent her extra time as a Pink Lady Volunteer at DePaul Hospital and also devoted many hours to the Blessed Sacrament Elementary School.

Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth H. Parker and her husband John G. Parker Jr. of Virginia Beach; a son, John J. Hechtkopf and his wife, Diana D. Hechtkopf of Virginia Beach; a sister, Regina Kubatz of Virginia Beach; a brother, Alan Kubatz and his wife, Elaine of Parlin, N.J.; a granddaughter, Jennifer Carter and her husband, Charles R. Carter; a grandson, James W. Hechtkopf; 23 nieces and nephews; and three very special friends, Frank Scalfane, Bryan Harrell, and Whitney Smith.

A church service will be conducted at 8 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Byzantine Catholic Church, 216 South Parliament Drive, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Ronald Hatton. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
