Margaret Roper Garrett, 60, of the 4100 block of Belvedere Drive, died May 20, 1996, in her residence.
Mrs. Garrett, a native of Hopkinsville, Ky., was a musician. She was a member of the Virginia Beach Symphony Orchestra and performed with the little theaters in this area like The Hurrah Players and Commonwealth Musical Stage. She was the daughter of Fred J. and Ella Katharine Roper of Norfolk
Survivors include her husband, John Page Garrett; a daughter, Katherine G. and her husband, Eric Schweitzer of Los Angeles; a son, Frederick R. Garrett of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Walter C. Hunting at Loving Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at their home, 4137 Belvedere Drive, today from 6 to 8 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Virginia Beach Symphony Orchestra.
